People move here for elbow room, water access, and quiet, not for city amenities. The lake is electric-motor only, so it stays calm for paddling and fishing. There is a general store with a bulletin board that still does the job of social media, a K to 7 elementary school, and a public beach. Harper Mountain ski hill is about 15 minutes away and Sun Peaks about an hour.
