Pritchard sits on both banks of the South Thompson River, about 25 minutes east of Kamloops on the Trans-Canada and about 10 minutes west of Chase. It is a working rural community: hay fields and ALR farmland on the flats, acreages and riverside lots along the water, and a community store, post office and gas on the highway.
Most buyers come for space and the river. Lots run from small riverside parcels to larger ranch holdings, and most are on wells and septic, so water is the first thing to check on any Pritchard property.

A back road climbs north from Pritchard to Pinantan Lake, though the usual route to Pinantan is Paul Lake Road from Kamloops.

The historic 1920s wooden bridge is the heart of the community, with a small beach beside it, and there is a community store and gas just off the bridge.
